Thanthirimale Faces Flood Threat as Malwathu Oya's Water Level Soars

Due to the rapid rise in the water level of the Malwathu Oya, the Department of Irrigation has issued a flood warning for the Thanthirimale area.



However, according to data obtained as of 06:30 AM today, the water levels of other rivers in the island are currently at a normal state, the Department of Irrigation states.




Furthermore, the highest rainfall in the island during the past 21 hours, ending at 06:00 AM today, was recorded in the Panadugama area, with a value of 120.8 millimeters.

In addition, the Department of Irrigation further revealed that during this period, rainfall of 67.8 millimeters was recorded in the Urawa area and 58.7 millimeters in the Ellagala area.
