Smriti Mandhana Drops Marriage Plans

 Smriti Mandhana, a prominent player in the Indian women's cricket team, officially announced on Sunday via social media that she has decided to cancel her marriage, which was scheduled to take place with music director Palash Muchhal. This announcement comes amidst widespread media reports and rumors about their relationship and marriage over the past few weeks, addressing the uncertainties surrounding them.

She stated that she prefers to lead a very private life,

and due to the recent spread of false information, this is the most opportune moment to clarify the true situation to the world. Following the decision to call off the marriage, she kindly requested the public and media to provide the necessary space and privacy for both families to cope with the situation. She further emphasized that despite the challenges in her personal life, her full focus remains on playing cricket for the country and winning trophies for India.

Initial plans were made for the wedding ceremony to be held grandly in Smriti's hometown, Sangli,

and pre-wedding festivities had also taken place. However, due to her father's sudden illness the day before the scheduled wedding, she had to postpone the ceremony indefinitely, prioritizing her family's health and well-being.

After the postponement of the wedding, suspicions arose among fans that the relationship had broken down when she removed all wedding-related photos from her social media accounts. These rumors intensified with her decision to withdraw from the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) tournament. A notable development was that Jemimah Rodrigues, her teammate and close friend, also decided to withdraw from the same tournament to provide emotional support to Smriti Mandhana during this difficult time.
