A rare weather event has been reported in Saudi Arabia, where desert mountainous regions have been covered in snow after about 30 years, transforming the area into a cold wonderland. This sudden change in Saudi Arabia, which usually experiences high temperatures and a dry desert climate, has surprised many,

This is considered a unique event in the country's history. It is noteworthy that the mountains and desert lands in the Tabuk region have been covered with a white layer of snow after three decades.

This weather change occurred due to an extremely cold air current that swept across northern Saudi Arabia, bringing heavy rains, strong winds, and record low temperatures to the region. It is reported that temperatures in the mountainous areas of Jabal Al Lawz and Trojena, in particular, dropped to -4 degrees Celsius. The snow that fell in these areas, located about 2,600 meters above sea level, created a spectacular sight of the desert's rugged rocks and sand dunes covered in snow.

Locals and tourists alike can be seen flocking to these areas in large numbers to witness this rare spectacle. People are showing great interest in skiing on the desert snow, engaging in snow sports, and taking photographs, while videos of camels roaming the snow-covered desert under dark clouds are rapidly spreading across social media. The fact that the Trojena mountains, part of the NEOM project, were also covered in snow has managed to attract tourists.

Coinciding with this snowfall, weather departments indicate that several other regions in Saudi Arabia have been affected by adverse weather conditions. Areas such as Mecca, Medina, Jazan, and Asir may experience thunderstorms and strong winds, while foggy conditions are expected in Riyadh and several other regions. Authorities have issued warnings to people in coastal areas to remain vigilant as sea levels may rise in the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf regions. This sudden weather change has become an unforgettable memory in Saudi Arabia's climatic history.
