All arrangements have been made to hold the expenditure head debates related to six ministries in Parliament today (1) and tomorrow (2). Accordingly, Parliament is scheduled to convene from 9:00 AM today and tomorrow until 12:00 midnight. It is also noteworthy that this is the first time in the history of budget debates that the House will convene for such an extended period to hold debates.
Today, the expenditure heads of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs, the Ministry of Buddha Sasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, and the Ministry of Environment are scheduled to be debated.
Parliamentary sources state that debates related to the Ministry of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development, and the Ministry of Plantations and Infrastructure will be held tomorrow.
Due to the adverse weather conditions that prevailed in the country on the 27th and 28th, the budget debates could not be held. The Committee on Parliamentary Business has decided to debate the expenditure heads that were scheduled for those two canceled days, today and tomorrow.
