Girlfriend Forcibly Drugged with 'Ice' and Gang-Raped

A serious incident has been reported where a boyfriend and five of his friends allegedly took his girlfriend to a lodge in the Weliweriya area, forcibly made her consume 'Ice' drug, incapacitated her, and then gang-raped her.

The Weliweriya Police's Children and Women's Bureau, along with the Criminal Investigation Division, have jointly launched a wide-ranging investigation to apprehend the suspects involved in this crime.

Police sources state that around 10:00 PM on the 8th, this twenty-one-year-old woman ran to the Weliweriya Police Station, gasping for breath, and immediately collapsed unconscious on the station floor. Several police officers promptly responded, splashed water on her face to provide first aid, and after she regained consciousness, allowed her to rest for a while before questioning her about the incident.

She informed the police that she was in a relationship with a young man residing in the Peliyagoda area, and at his invitation, she had come to a lodge in Weliweriya and booked a room. While they were in the room, the boyfriend had called five of his friends to the location,

The police stated that in her complaint, she mentioned that all of them then jointly and forcibly gave her 'Ice' drug, intoxicated her, and committed the crime while she was unconscious.

A senior police officer stated that the young woman, who was allegedly gang-raped, has now been hospitalized for medical examinations. The main suspect, the boyfriend, and his five friends, who are said to be involved in the incident, have fled the area, and several police teams have been deployed to launch operations for their arrest.
