
A Sri Lankan man was arrested on Monday, December 22, in front of a Yoshinoya restaurant near Shinagawa Station in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan, after holding a utility knife to his neck. Although the man had bleeding wounds on his hand and neck, he was reportedly conscious.
Police immediately cordoned off the area and managed to convince him to drop the knife after negotiating with him. No passenger was harmed in this incident.The incident was reported around 10:30 AM, at which point an officer saw the individual holding a knife to his neck and called for additional assistance. Subsequently, a team of over ten police officers arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control.
The man was arrested at the scene after complying with police instructions, under the charge of violating Japan's Firearms and Swords Control Law.
