Exiled prominent writer and human rights activist Taslima Nasreen has launched a strong verbal attack on the head of Bangladesh's interim government, Muhammad Yunus, declaring him a symbol of moral hypocrisy.

Yunus, who advocates for women's economic independence in America, on the other hand, stands accused by her of allowing the blatant violation of women's rights and human rights under his rule in Bangladesh. Pointing out that this is a completely double standard, she has severely criticized his actions.

Commenting on social media, Nasreen has pointed out that although Yunus delivers speeches on women's empowerment on international platforms, in present-day Bangladesh, mob attacks, street beatings leading to death, and religious conflicts have become everyday occurrences.

Under his rule, women are subjected to rape and terror, and the people are forced to live in fear of violence and extremism. She emphasizes that Bangladesh has now become a hub for serious human rights violations.

Questioning Yunus's economic motives, Taslima Nasreen reveals that he has been receiving a salary for four years as the co-founder and director of 'Grameen America' in New York. She accuses him of profiting by trapping poor women in America in a debt trap while he travels on first-class flights, receiving international awards. She points out that although he speaks globally about women's entrepreneurship, his own supporters in Bangladesh are setting garment factories on fire, depriving thousands of poor workers of their livelihoods.

Taslima Nasreen calls for donors and governments funding Grameen America to immediately reconsider their support for Yunus. She states that continued association with Yunus at this time amounts to indirect complicity in the crimes and human rights violations occurring in Bangladesh. She further emphasizes that the world should now recognize Yunus's double-faced nature and his true character.
