A 16-year-old girl injured in an accidental shooting in Kalubowila is in hospital.

Police report that a 16-year-old girl was injured and hospitalized in a shooting that occurred in the Bodhiyawatta area, Saranaankara Road, Kalubowila. Initial information reveals that two individuals who arrived on a motorcycle carried out this shooting.

Initial investigations have revealed that two unknown gunmen who arrived on a motorcycle targeted a house in the area, shot at it, and then fled.

Police teams conducting investigations currently suspect that the individuals who carried out this shooting missed their intended target. It is believed that their real target was another house located adjacent to the house that was shot at.

The injured girl has currently been hospitalized for treatment. However, hospital authorities have not yet made any statement regarding her current health condition.

Further investigations into the incident are being conducted by the Kohuwala Police.
