No Landslide at Sri Pada Shrine: A Natural Phenomenon During Rains

 Venerable Bengamuwe Dhammadinna Thero, the Chief Incumbent of Sri Pada, emphasized that there is no truth whatsoever in the news circulating on social media these days about a landslide occurring near the Sri Pada shrine.

Making a special statement to the media, His Reverence pointed out that it is a normal natural occurrence for plant matter growing on the rock face below the Sri Pada courtyard to fall downwards with rainwater during periods of heavy rainfall every year.

The Chief Incumbent of Sri Pada further confirmed that this incident occurred in the area near the Idikatupahana path, where the Hatton and Ratnapura routes connect, and that it has not caused any impact whatsoever to the Sri Pada courtyard or the sacred site.
