The Car World World Scam -Be Careful

 

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has launched an investigation into a large-scale financial scam carried out under the name Lanka Car World. The suspects advertised vehicles for sale on websites and in newspapers and get the prospective buyers to deposit money into various bank accounts.

The CID has reported the matter to the Balapitiya Magistrate’s Court and reported that many have lost their hard-earned money to these fraudsters.   The suspects have fled the area. 

The suspects have been identified as:

Hewa Devage Sanjeewa Upul Wijerathna  and Ranasinghe Hettiarachchige Disna Iroshani Ranasinghe
