Recounting the ordeal, Salman explained how the initial excitement of returning from an award function quickly turned into fear. “We were all in a good mood, chatting and laughing. Suddenly, the plane started shaking, and at first, it seemed like normal turbulence. But the jolts got stronger, the sounds got scarier, and soon, the entire cabin fell silent,” he said.

What made the situation even more surreal was Sohail Khan’s reaction—or rather, lack of it. “I turned to check on Sohail, and he was fast asleep! Completely oblivious to what was happening around him,” Salman laughed. However, the mood turned grim when the oxygen masks dropped—a rare occurrence outside of movies.

“I noticed the flight attendants had their eyes shut, murmuring prayers under their breath. When I glanced at the pilots, I saw worry on their faces—that’s when I realized we were in real trouble,” he added.

After nearly an hour of terror, the turbulence finally settled. Just as the passengers began to relax, a second round of violent shaking hit, lasting another ten minutes. Salman recalled how the atmosphere remained eerily silent until landing. “Nobody moved, nobody spoke. It was pure fear,” he said. However, the moment the plane touched down safely, people quickly switched from panic mode to pretending nothing had happened—a reaction that Salman found amusing.
