The situation in Badulla is alarming - GMOA Dr Palitha Rajapaksa

Uva Provincial President of the Government Medical Officers' Association says that he too is afraid of the spread of Kovid in the Badulla District. It shows that the disease has gone beyond the level of socialization. "We are afraid of the current situation in the Badulla district.  This means that there is a large number of viruses in infected people. This is what I want to say. Neither the Ministry nor the local health authorities nor any other authority have an idea of how many patients are in the community and how many are at home without being hospitalized. As of yesterday, 63 antigen tests have been done in the OPD. 30 of them are positive. That is 50%. If a few more days go by like this, it will definitely exceed our hospital capacity. We warn that the Badulla Hospital will not be in such a situation for long. Maybe we too will have to declare a state of disaster at the Badulla Hospital." Dr. Palitha Rajapaksa stated this addresses a media briefing held by the Uva Provincial Branch of the Government Medical Officers' Association yesterday (06).
