Due to the increase in the price of Prima bread flour, the price of short eats has gone up by between 5 and 10 rupees.


The All Ceylon Bakery Owners' Association says that the prices of bakery products other than bread have been increased by Rs. 5 to 10 due to the increase in flour companies' price.

Accordingly,

Bakery products, including buns,malu paan etc. have risen in price by between 5 and 10 rupees.
The government has not intervened to control the price increase.

Prima, one of the leading bread flour companies in the country, has informed its agents that it will increase the price of flour used for bread production by Rs.
Accordingly, the price of a kilo of flour which was 80 rupees, will increase to 83.50 rupees.
With this increase, the new price of a 50 kg loaf of bread will increase to Rs. 4,175.
Bakery companies have said that with the increase in the price of bread flour, the prices of bakery products have also gone up.
