The death of the son of a millionaire businessman who jumped from an upper floor of the Durdans Hospital in Kollupitiya on the 25th has been reported as suspicious, and an open verdict has been given at the inquest. Ryan Nettikumara, 31, the son of Gamini Nettikumara, the famous Salaka Senkada Group owner in Colombo and Sudharma Nettikumara, a well-known teledrama producer, had committed suicide. Shortly after being given some medicine there, he suddenly went to the bathroom and jumped out of a window and fell from the 10th floor to the 5th floor. He died on the spot. After he went to the bathroom, his girlfriend, who was in the hospital room, was found in a panic about the disappearance, and after learning of the incident, she reportedly ran away with tense. The Kollupitiya Police conducted a special inquest into the incident on the 25th as it appeared to be a suicide.

Meanwhile, the deceased Ryan Nettikumara has stated that he could not find any need or urgency to commit suicide. An open verdict was given at the post mortem as there were a number of uncertainties regarding the death, and the police reported the matter to the court. Accordingly, the police have been ordered to conduct further investigations.
