Kataragama hotel closed due to an infected resident

A pilgrim who visited Kataragama recently was found to be infected with COVID 19. The holiday resort where he was staying in Kataragama was closed and 09 people, including its owner, wife and employees, were quarantined in Kataragama.

Administrative Public Health Inspector Saman Dissanayake said. COVID 19 has been identified as an Army Corporal, a 25 - year - old resident of Divulankadawala, Ranmale Road, who had come on a pilgrimage
to Kataragama.
The Uva Provincial Director of Health Services has been informed by the Ministry of Health that he had arrived at the Kataragama Pilgrimage on the 7th, stayed at the relevant resort, visited the Kirivehera and the Devalaya and left on the 8th.
 Accordingly, the Kataragama Public Health Inspectors have commenced a special investigation to find the persons with whom the Corporal had been associated since his arrival in Kataragama. This person is from Kataragama Kirivehera and Devalaya as well as Sellakataragama and Ministries.
Has been to several and has been associated with many people.
 As more infected people may be found in the Kataragama area in the next few days, everyone should be careful not to leave the house except for the essentials.
Public Health Inspector Saman Dissanayake also requested the people of Kataragama to follow the rules of hygiene, including wearing masks.
