"Should have 5000 to exist without dying ... not 2500 now" -- Bandula Gunawardene

Minister Bandula Gunawardene who mentioned some years ago that an individual could live for a month from Rs. 2500 and created a big uproar has once again expressed his ideas to a weekend newspaper about the cost of living. 

What he says is that that the '2500 story' is just a slinging of mud on him. He has once again revised the amount of money for teachers, school children saying that if an average person is to live without
dying, that person needs Rs. 5000. 

* Do you accept that a person can't live with Rs. 2500? 

  It was to students of 'guru vidyala' who could live with Rs. 2500, no. I said so because 2500 is sufficient to live without dying. You are saying about the cabinet paper requesting to grant Rs. 3000, isn't it. The economy of a country cannot be managed with such political mud slinging. Even during the past government it was accepted that Rs. 5000 is necessary to live without dying. That government proved that the cost of living has increased hundred per cent to live without dying.
