Kavinga Perera after causing fatal road accident flees ... taken into custody
Popular tele drama actor Kavinga Perera has been taken into police custody in connection with a serious offence of having subjected a person to an accident which resulted in his death. The accident has happened at Wele Kade junction in Talangama.
Early dawn today (19) when a group of workers of road development authority has been engaged in
maintenance work at Wele Kade junction when the vehicle driven by Kavinga Perera at a high speed had run over one of the workers and even on that occasion he has not stopped the vehicle. In order to avoid the accident for which he was responsible, he had continued driving his vehicle and has thus fled the scene of the accident.

Other workers had lifted the victim who was so seriously injured and have admitted him to hospital in another vehicle. However, on admission he had breathed his last. Later, on a complaint lodged with Thalangama police, CCTV footage was scrutinized and the police managed to identify the person who had been driving this vehicle at that moment and it was found that the person responsible for this accident is tele actor Kavinga Perera, owner of this vehicle. Subsequently actor Kavinga Perera has been taken into custody by Thalangama police for being responsible for a hit and run accident.The suspect is to be produced before Kaduwela court today (19).
