Action to get down bodies of female students who died in Azerbaijan ... as fast as possible

An instance where three Sri Lankan female-students studying at Caspian university in the capital city of Baku in Azerbaijan close to Iran died of inhalation of poisonous smoke was reported on 9th January. The three students were admitted to hospital because of a condition of allergy for having inhaled the smoke that emanated from the down floor of that hostel was reported.

The three female students are from Piliyandala and Kelaiya. They are of the ages of 21, 23 and 24
years while those aged 21 and 23 years are sisters of the same family living in Piliyandala, it is reported. The 24 year old student is a resident of Kelaniya and is a friend of the other two. Normally Azerbaijan is a country which most Sri Lankans do not go to and the three of them had set off to that country on July 16th, 2019. All three of them have been studying information technology and fashion designing at Western Caspian university.

Unfortunately they pass away from inhaling carbon monoxide smoke last 9th. As there is no Sri Lankan consulate office in Azerbaijan, a difficult situation has arisen to get the dead bodies of the Sri Lankan female students who so died in Azerbaijan. Mr. Ravinatha Ariyasingha, secretary of foreign affairs said that Sri Lankan officers of the consulate office in Teheran, Iran are attending to necessary matters and had consented to arrange matters with that country. As such, bodies of the dead female students would be brought down to this country in the next few days while Azerbaijan government has commenced an inquiry in connection with the incident.
