"When Caroline wanted to go .. American visa was rejected twice" -- husband says

Mrs. World beauty pageant was held this time in Las Vegas, America. 51 contestants participated representing various countries of the world. Carline Juri who represented Mrs. World this time managed to achieve suitability in that connection by winning her crown as Mrs. World beauty contest in Sri Lanka in the contest held in the month of October this year. It appears that more than a stroke
of fate what came to her aid for that victory was her courage.

Caroline Jurie born in 1992 had her education at St. Sebastian Balika Vidyalaya, Kandana. Though she was not a model on a professional level, she participated in modelling aspects only on a few occasions. Subsequently she left to Dubai for employment and engaged in a profession related to sales management. It was there that she met her future partner. This is how Nishantha Deepal, her husband reminisced all that: "I also had my education at Kandana Sebastian Balika Vidyalaya. Though I studied at that Balika Vidyalaya I have not met her. It was when I was serving as sales manager in Dubai I met her in 2016. After that we got married in 2017".

A cute baby girl too joined Nishantha Deepal's and Caroline Jurie's nest.Their daughter Elisa Caroline is passing through her second year. Caroline Jurie who stayed in Sri Lanka after the marriage showed a liking towards participating in Mrs. World beauty contest. Nishantha Deepal says that he gave his consent for it. As she won the Sri Lankan Mrs. World beauty contest in 2019 which event was organised by popular beautician Chandimal Jayasingha, she was eligible to take part in Mrs. World beauty contest.

"Though she got ready to proceed for the contest, she was denied visa on two occasions by the American embassy. It was at the third try that she managed to get her visa. Therefore she went to America after a delay of two days. She was sad about not being able to get her visa; but she enjoying thoughts of participating in the contest". Thus it was Caroline's husband Nishantha Deepal brought to memory the obstacles behind her victory.

During the entire period that passed with Rosy Senanayaka being selected as Mrs. World, no Sri Lankan lady managed to even come within the range of the last 15 contestants. When considering it from that point of view, the challenge Caroline Jurie confronted was indeed not a small one. She was called upon to be dressed in some clothing which portrayed Sri Lankan culture in this contest which comprised several rounds. For that occasion she prepared herself in clothing which comprised of the traditional mask. Selecting such an attire actually was a great help to Caroline Juri to get ahead in the next rounds.

In the same way, hopes or ambitions of contestants were queried in the final round of thirty contestants. The response she gave on that occasion contributed towards praise of the panel of judges. "Children are being harassed and love is missing. I hope to rescue them from it and give them love", Caroline Jurie came out with such an affectionate idea. Thus, finally Caroline Juri managed to win the coveted Mrs. World crown of 2019 in the final round and that was by pushing Ireland and Virginia Islands contestants into second and third positions, respectively.

"I am someone who underwent many problems during my childhood. Therefore I had been suffering from a kind of depression. As a result of it I had regrets over my life. Because of that I hope to provide my service to mental health of children who are mentally backward as a result of hatred and stress all over the world ... during the year ahead", she said. That statement she made after her victory was so strong enough to grab the attention of everybody around the world and as a result greetings began to stream towards her.

Caroline who considered the challenge in her life should end with victory and president Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has left a note in her facebook account. "After 35 years Caroline Jurie became Mrs. World Beauty Queen thus adding pride to Sri Lankans. I thank her", it was mentioned in the greetings. Caroline Jurie was smart enough to add Sri Lanka into the list of four countries which achieved the crown over four times and that was including that crown which was won by Rosy Senanayaka before this.

It was with great determination that Caroline's mother remarked kissing her  daughter and husband before they set off from home saying, "Raththaran duwe, you will return to the country definitely by bringing the crwn with her". This courageous daughter faced that challenge finally bringing glory to our land. It is something special to note that it was Jennifer Lee of Vietnam, Mrs. World who clinched the crown in 2018 who in fact crowned Caroline Jurie as Mrs. World in 2019.

Shriya Hinduragala, one of our popular poets had left a comment on her facebook page about the great honour Caroline brought to our motherland. 'Caroline Jurie got away from fifty one and grabs the crown physically'. With that crown on her head Mrs. Caroline Jurie is expected to return to Sri Lanka tomorrow (10). Greetings to that lady who kept the majesty of Sri Lanka on a pedestal!
