"If courts order ... I'll kill all 'kuddo' ...
President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday (20) told that "If supreme court gives verdict in favour of death penalty I shall execute it before my tenure is over". He stated this at the conference of model united nations when a youth posed a question to him. The president also said:
"I placed my signature to execute the death penalty to four drug dealers. There were various political
protests against this decision I took. Some even took it to court. If the decision is in favour of courts ... I will implement that punishment. In the same way, in respect of the incident regarding the accused in the Royal Park incident, I am considering the presidential pardon. He was involved in the said incident when he was 19. His age now is 32. By now he has completed his university degree also".

The murder of a beautiful girl in the year 2005 at Royal Park created pandemonium. The case was where this attractive girl Yuven Johanson was being pushed down from a balcony at Royal Park, Rajagiriya by her lover Jude Anthony Jayamaha thus killing her. Though the alleged murderer presented points to court that it was unintentional, the verdict of death penalty given by appeal court in 214 was even approved by supreme court and the petition forwarded by him was thus dismissed.
In the appeal forwarded by attorney general at appeal court, the verdict said that since there was sufficient evidence that he was guilty of the 0ffence, to enforce capital punishment on him. It is this person to whom the president has decided to consider him for presidential pardon.
