A description and video about Sajith Premadasa who has been named as the next presidential candidate appears here.

Ranasinghage Sajith Premadasa, son of second executive president of Sri Lanka and Mrs. Hema Premadasa was born on January 12th, 1967. He next had his higher education in England and America Having received his initial education at St. Thomas'
College, Mount Lavinia and Colombo Royal College subsequently then followed it up in following studies in economics and political science in a London academy. Sajith Premadasa has had his religious education at Bambalapitiya Vajirarama Daham Pasela and finally launched his political career in Hambanthota district in southern province where a majority of arduous, helpless and innocent people live.

After his father became a prey to the Tiger Movement at an unexpected moment, Sajith faced life in the company of his beloved mother and only sister Dulanjali Premadasa even without giving up politics. He then was appointed to parliament in 1994 at the first election held in Hambanthota district by becoming the first. From there onwards it is something of special interest to note that he was the member of parliament who secured the highest percentage at every election held in Sri Lanka thus becoming the indomitable politician in the process.

In the era 2002 - 2004 he functioned as the deputy minister of health and though Sajith lost his position as deputy minister, he continued serving the masses as an MP of the opposition. Further, it is from a long time back that he began involving himself in building viharas of a poor condition with support of Jalani to whom he got married by activating the sasunata aruna programme. Sajith who accepted the position of responsibility of housing, construction and samurdhi under the Yahapalana government thus launched his duties as a cabinet minister and went on to grant a sum of Rs. one lakh under a concessionary method and began the programme of providing housing loans programme for the purpose of building houses.

Sajith Premadasa has already finished 182 'semata sevena yali pibidena uda  gammana'. By now, 1926 gammana are taking shape all over the island. Poverty-stricken villages, middle-class villages, government service villages, 'ranaviru' villages and police villages are the villages that come under this category.
