When dead bodies of mother - son were being taken after train van collision ... house burgled in the meantime

An incident was reported where both mother and son have passed away after a van in which they were travelling has collided with a train at Ambalangoda Kandegoda Thotawattha level crossing and the train was plying from Aluthgama to Galle. After the accident two relatives of theirs had sustained serious injuries.

that very same night (12), Ambalangoda police say. The dead mother and son it is understood that had been living in that house and it is reported that the dead lady's husband is serving overseas. The accident has taken place when the mother and son had closed up their house and were on their way to a relative's home in Ragama and having known that nobody was in the house concerned, the robbers have got inside the house, police say. 

Relations have gone to the house to make preparations to bring the dead bodies of the mother and son on the night of the accident have observed that almirahs and drawers had been tampered with and thrown here and there and with their suspicions aroused had called police emergency number. 

Though money and jewellery have been robbed, it is only the deceased mother and son who are aware of the value, police say. An investigation has been launched to nab the suspects. It was 50 year old Nayana Kumudini and Thanuja Udara the 23 year old son living in Ambalagoda Wathugedera who have passed away in this accident.
