Colombo additional magistrate, Mrs. Thanuja Jayatunga yesterday (1) ordered that an IT officer of Presidential secretariat who has hacked into the data base of the President's fund without permission and has changed the password and was taken into custody by criminal investigation department be released on a cash bail of Rs. 10,000 and two surety bails of Rs. 2 lakhs. She mentioned further by imposing conditions on the suspect not to enter into any network of essential and confidential information in any manner
whatsoever and not to threaten any person giving evidence. She finally ordered the suspect to appear before criminal investigation department every Sunday between 9 am and 12. 

It is Gurubewilage Rohan Thilanga Gunaratna, an IT officer of Presidential secretariat, resident of No. 5/A, Welangana, Divulapitiya who was released on bail. Mr. D.N. Nanayakkara, secretary of President's Fund had lodged a complaint in connection with this incident to the computer forensic laboratory of criminal investigation department last 26th. 

The criminal investigation department produced the suspect before court and said that this suspect has entered the computer data base of President's Fund last 24th and 25th stealthily and had been browsing for close upon a period of two hours without any log in entries indicated. The criminal investigation department provided information to court that two computers used by him in his office were taken into custody and that that the blunder he made by using the IP No. has been revealed. In the meantime, a survey is being conducted to ascertain why this suspect has entered the computer data base in this manner and information in that respect would be forwarded in court in future days ahead. 

Courts which took information into consideration has released the suspect on bail and for purposes of reporting the progress report of  in relation to the relevant incident, the case has been postponed till 20th August.
