Minister Ranjan before Prime Minister ... for having insulted Bhikkus

State minister Ranjan Ramanayaka has been summoned by Prime Minister in order to inquire about an insultory statement about bhikkus. What state minister Ranjan Ramanayaka said over he YouTube channel is as follows:

"See ... those members of the clergy ... I say are 90 per cent those who have been subjected to
delinquency ... sexual abuse in their childhood and mentally disturbed. What they ask is blood ... they ask for revenge. It's not necessary to say be name ... everybody knows who ...".

Minister Ranjan Ramanayaka has been asked to make his comments regarding the statement concerned this afternoon at 3 at Temple Trees. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasingha has informed minister Ranjan Ramanayaka requesting him asking for a written statement about the said insultory statement made against bhikkus. It has been pointed out that the statement of Ranjan Ramanayaka is contradictory to the opinion of the party. Whatever it is, what the state minister who expresses his opinion in this respect says that his statement was focused only on 'some bhikkus' and that his statement was distorted by the social media and instead of the word 'samahara' (some) ... it has been changed to 'garuthara swaminvahansela' (venerable monks) and thus conveyed a mistaken idea. He stated that a wrong impression is created about him because of that distorted idea and therefore legal action will be taken against those who circulated those erratic ideas.
