Priest who comes to offer merit to Inshaf Ahamad ... arrested

The Dematagoda house where Mohammed Inshaf Ahamad, owner of Wellampitiya copper factory and who was instrumental in exploding the bomb inside Cinnamon Grand Hotel in Colombo has been closed and Yoosuf Ibrahim and householder, spices dealer Yoosuf Ibrahim and children and a few daughters in law are all under police detention camp.

In the meantime, there was a house owned by wife of copper factory owner, in Kollupitiya which has come down to her by heritage. It was in this house that Ahamad has kept his wife by saying that he
was leaving to Zambiya, before exploding the bomb. After the bomb blast incident she was taken into custody by police and the house was closed.

In the meantime, police have received information about a suspicious group of people who had come to this house. They had arrived in a three-wheeler and after entering the house and police who had gone for inspection there were able to note that the aforesaid group of people were engaged in conducting some form f prayers there. On being questioned, though they were told that the crowd including a priest had come to do some preaching, the police were able to realise that their arrival was for the purpose of to offer religious merit to Mohammed Ibrahim Inshaf Ahamad who was one of the suicide bombers.

As their arrival for such an activity, the priest and the group of four others were taken into custody by police. It was reported that the priest was from Kotahena while the others were from Maligawaththa. Police say that suspects are being questioned at length.
