Akram Ahakkam the software engineer attached to Virtusa institute is presently under custody of police terrorist investigation division according to statements extracted from him, much of what has not been revealed about the Easter attack has come  to light. 

Akram has said that he has taken steps to make connections with individuals who is linked to IS in this country across social media since 2014. As such, he had entered a place in Prathibimbarama
Road in Kalubowila where the religion of Islam is taught and at that place he had come across persons such as Ahamad, Adhil Ameez, Umair, Inshaf and Sashna Mohommed. The person by the name of Imad who came there had gone to Turkey had once more returned to this country in the year 2015. Subsequently, who had been delivering a series of lectures and Jamil, the Dehiwala bomber and one of the bombers of Shangri-La hotel, Ilham Ibrahim has attended those lectures. Akram further reveals that these lectures were conducted at each other's homes. 

 This clique who gathered around Colombo had later attended the wedding celebrations of Husni Mubarak who lived in Kalmunai. On that occasion they had met Mohommed Zaharan who was involved in Thawheed Jamad office in Kattankudy. Accordingly, the group who got together with Zaharan and his brother, Zeini in Colombo had set up an extremist group and had given its leadership to a person known as Umair. 

This group who booked a lecture hall in Malwana towards end of the year 2016 had taken their oaths at that location. This suspect also mentioned that the 500 lakhs received as compensation for Ilham Ibrahim's copper factory going under the floods that year was given to Zaharan. Later, the said group who assembled at a house in Aruppola, Kandy had discussed about getting ready that Buddha statues in temples be demolished and that if a war-like situation erupts, they should be  prepared to to kill and commit suicide. 

Afterwards, the suspect says that several training seminars were held and that at the end the group has inquired whether Zaharan would like to bec connected to the suicide group. Akram then says that on that occasion the Dehiwala bomber, Jameel and Kochchikade bomber, Muath have come forward with 5 others who accompanied Zaharan. Akram further testified at interrogation that in the month of February in the year 2019 the Dehiwala and Kochchikade bombers had come to the private firm where he is working and met him. 

In the meantime, after April 21st attack this suspect has made various comments across his facebook page condemning the attack and it can be seen that he has maintained a number of accounts across social media under the name Abu Kalid. The suspect is a resident of Dehiwala and it is by officers of army intelligence director board that he was taken into custody last 27th. Akram Ahakkam incidentally was arrested under charges of having maintained connections with individuals linked to suicide bomb attacks and for aiding and abetting in such cases.
