After the conflictory situation turned into a decisive situation within the parliament, according to the invitation of President, a discussion took place at President's Secretariat with President Maithripala Sirisena and leaders who gave support to the no faith motion. Speaker Karu Jayasuriya and United National Front, Tamil Alliance and a number of leaders of political parties including Muslim Congress were present. However, no representative of Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna was present.

Though a mod of temper was anticipated from President Maithripala Sirisena when considering the past decisions, on the contrary the discussion had gone on in a cordial manner, inside news reveal.
The President has pointed out that some points in the no faith motion were inaccurate and that the manner in which the motion was passed had some mlemishes attached to it.

Whatever it is, the parties who brought the proposal informed that whatever minor inaccuracies of a technical nature were present, the majority were against Mahinda. Maithri however had not shown a negative attitude towards it. What he said was that in that case to rectify those setbacks. The President has further made a request the no faith motion be revised, to present it in parliament in a formal manner in accordance with law.

As such, the no faith motion will be once again be presented in parliament assembling at 1.30 pm tomorrow the 16th. According to the exchange of these ideas, the President who displayed a positive response had given hopes to those who gathered at the meeting that if the incumbent party would be defeated tomorrow he would oust Mahinda Rajapaksa from his position as Prime Minister.

Only seven or eight people participated in the discussion with the President while Mr. Ravi Karunanayaka alone has joined in a media briefing where he said, "what President said was that this needs to be settled soon. The discussion was cordial. A decision was taken ... I cannot say it. The issue will be settled quite soon". As such, the no faith motion is expected to be presented in parliament tomorrow, the 16th.
