Shelinda who displayed her best at Youth Olympic after Susanthika and Darsha!

2018 Youth Olympic Games held in Buenos Aires, Argentina recently came to a close today 18th. Parami, Senuru, Dilan and Shelinda were able to inscribe their names in gold letters against Sri Lanka. though Parami Mariestella happened to clinch a bronze medal, the performance of other

participants were of a higher level as follows:

Parami Maristella - 200 m St. Chase - Bronze medal with PB 6:33 ... +

Seniru Amarasinghe - High Jump - Overall 4th - Eq.PB 2.14m

Dilan Bogoda - 400m - Overall 7th - PB 48.52 sec

Shelinda Jansen - 200m - Overall 9th - PB 24.07 sec

Shelinda in particular became first by winning the 2nd heat of 200 metres, thus achieving a feat similar to the performance of Susanthika Jayasingha and Damayanthi Darsha in the past. (Only the two of them have achieved the distinction within the 23 limit margin).

According to final results recShelinda who is in her 17th ords, though she was the 9th, the 24.07 speed she recorded was indeed a victory which was totally unexpected. Shelinda, being 17 years of age is a schoolgirl of Colombo Gateway International College.
