Sex pervert cornered ...

because of note inserted in school complaint -  box!

An incident is reported from Hettigoda where an underaged schoolgirl was subjected to sexual harassment throughout a period of about 10 months and she had not divulged anything about this to outsiders but later had left a note in the school complaint-box, subsequent to which the culprit concerned, a 52 year old person was arrested. The said schoolgirl was studying in a vidyalaya in Hettipola area in grade 6. Her mother and father
had been living separately because of a family dispute and therefore she was living in her grandmother's and grandfather's house. 

The procedure in this school has been for a student to write anonymously on a piece of paper any trouble or a major issue for which a complaint-box has been placed to put it in after which it is opened by the school staff and in this particular instance was found a piece of paper on which was written, "there is an uncle who comes home, Send him to jail for the rest of his life. Then I  can live without worry!" 

Several teachers were able to identify the schoolgirl who wrote this note and had gone into discussion with the staff and then had complained to police. As such, a lady police constable had in civil clothes was sent to the school concerned and she had confronted this schoolgirl and inquired details about this kindly and then she had revealed that a friend of her grandfather used to come home and that he was sexually harassing her. The schoolgirl has further said that she could not bear up his harassment and had put this note in the complaint-box.  

On information exposed by the schoolgirl who was a minor, inquiries were made and the suspect was taken into custody by Hettipola police. Information was found that the suspect had been visiting this house on and off for a period of about 10 months and had sexually molested the girl at a time when nobody was at home. The schoolgirl who is supposed to have been subjected to sexual harassment has been admitted to hospital for a medical examination. Further investigations are underway.
