Civil security guard who was suspected as having struggled with bears and died ... actually was murdered!

The death of civil security guard who had died after having been subjected to being mauled by some bears in Mullegama area, Inginiyagala, Amparai last 8th had decided to commit suicide after leaving a comment written with a piece of charcoal had not actually died in that manner; but it really was a case of murder, it was later revealed. The police also believe that the note left by the deceased was not his; but that of the killer himself. The post-mortem of the dead body of the civil security guard was conducted at Amparai General
Hospital in which it was revealed that there had been no attack by bears but that he had died as a result of gunshot injuries resulting in haemorrage.

It was a civil security guard, aged 38 years named Ravindra Thusitha Kumara living in Mullegama. He had been attached to Karadugala Police and had come for a holiday. His relatives had complained to Rathmalgahaella Police guardpost saying that his dead body was found lying in a chena in Mullegama area after which police commenced investigations. 

Police were able to detect the writing on the ground written with a piece of charcoal as: "struggled with three bears .. couldn't get away ... the bear bit me .. I am going to die". The guard's gun too had been by the side of his body. Though at first appearance it was that he had committed suicide after wounds inflicted by the bear; however it came to be known that the said incident was nothing but homicide. 

It was found that this was a death that had occured from two gunshots. There were no evidence to say that it was a case of attack by a bear. It was further revealed that gunshots could not have been fired by himself in this way other than by some outsider. It was mentioned in the post-mortem report that the first gunshot had struck the chin and left the jaw while the second gunshot has struck the upper portion of the skull and gone out from the jaw area and as a consequence of serious injury to the head, this death has occured. Inginiyagala Police are on the tracks of persons who are responsible for this killing.
