5 months after commemorating father's 100th birthday ... prior to his departure​

Singer Priyani Jayasingha who bade farewell a couple of days back was someone who maintained a cordial relationship with artistes as well as members of her family. About 2 years before she happened to hold a musical concert titled 'sundara hadakata' with her eldest son Loshitha Hasarel in the year 2016. Both Singers' Association as well as the Artistes' Guild rendered great support to her efforts. She in fact got together in most festivals organised by artistes associations recently and even became a live member in such activities. 

She has had a desire to post a photograph of herself appearing with fellow artistes across the

Facebook. Though she had posted hundreds of selfie photos in Facebook, there is just one photo to be seen with her and her husband together. Even that had been clicked by an outside cameraman on the day of her concert.

There is evidence by those who know her that for a period of time her life was spent away from her husband. Priyani's father incidentally is still among the living. It was last February that his 100th birthday was celebrated. Some photos captured on camera on that occasion have been added to her Facebook account. 

Nobody close to her ever anticipated the departure of this charming artiste so early as this. 5 months after completing his 100th year he was ill-fated to be in the presence of her silent corpse!

The body lies at the address of 546/1, Alubogahalandawattha, Kuda Arukgoda, Panadura for the public to pay their respects. The final rites would be conducted at Minuwapitiya public cemetery, Panadura at 4 in the evening on 12th Thursday.
