Mr. Indika Ginige, a popular artiste and singer has passed away suddenly on the 23rd night having taken an overdose of drugs. He is 37 years of age and a father of one child. While his daughter was in her mother's custody, his wife had gone overseas with crises cropping up in their 4 years married life, it was reported. 

Though his death is suspected as a case of suicide; still the inquiry is pending. After being serious at
home, he was admitted to Kandy hospital, after which he had passed away, family sources say. 

A dialogue had circulated sometime back about Indika whose name stays etched as a tele-actor and for having played a number of roles because of the connection he maintained with popular actress Udayanthi. He has also sung several songs which gained popularity in recent times. 

The sudden demise of Indika became a shock to his fellow artistes and it is suspected that some crisis surrounding his family may have been the reason for this. According to what Singers' Society informs, the final rites of Indika has been fixed for tomorrow 25th evening.
