Government Medical Officers' Association which continuously launched a strike on behalf of SAITM protest during the past has abandoned it after local government elections and of late only Frontline Socialist Party has now taken a hand in it.

On this occasion medical officers have resumed their strike this time with because of an overseas

agreement and thus putting patients into various difficulties. From 8 o'clock this morning (17) the Government Medical Officers' Association are engaged i n an islandwide token strike by showing their protest against signing a Singapore Free Trade Agreement and some other demands as well. As a result of the medical strike, patients who have come seeking treatment at hospitals have faced severe inconvenience. Seen below are opinions and ideas expressed by them to a rupavahini channel
