The Ganemulla girl who had to face educational setbacks having been subjected to social social pressure all because of the sick condition her mother was undergoing was fortunate enough to find a new national school with the mediation of Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam yesterday (18); that was after State Minister of

Social Empowerment and Welfare forwarded the girl to the Education Minister.

The minister stated here that he would appoint an independent supervisory board to solve problems children face as a result of incidents such as this and that all government, private and international schools in the island would be monitored by this independent supervisory board. The Education Minister further decided steps would be taken to provide a suitable form of employment in accordance with the relevant girl's father.
