During the course of the no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister today, according to the critical and venomous speech made by minister Susil Premajayanth, it was apparent that the SLFP members in parliament had sustained a severe shock and in his speech it was forecast that with the change in government a revolution is to take
place today or tomorrow.

Right from the start of his speech, the government inclusive of the UNP was subjected to criticism. When he said "if possible create a single government and show ... and then we'll look after that", a very heated situation broke out. When a strong disturbance emerged from the government politicians, he happened to turn back and began to reprimand those who were on his own side.

During his speech, UNP backbenchers began to shout 'petrol hora'. He then retorted saying, "When the rilaw are dancing, the people would not be perturbed. It's not rilaw in parliament who dance when the gypsy keeps moving the pole. He once said, am trying to make a singular government ... let's do it and see".

In the meantime, after the no-confidence next Monday (9) a new cabinet would be formed, Health Minister Mr. Rajitha Senaratna has mentioned at a cabinet briefing. The minister on this occasion has said that Mps of SLFP who vote against the Prime Minister would be ousted from the cabinet and that there would not be a problem in the case of SLFP Mps who refrain from voting. It was mentioned that Mr. Susil Premajayanth has boycotted cabinet meetings for the past so many weeks. He would be voting against Ranil today and that there is a possibility that he would change parties, reports have been published. The video of his speech, from below
