'Mani pubba gama dhamma' -
allegations against Gammanpila for having distorted Buddha dhamma (video)
During the course of the no-confidence motion being held in parliament today, Mp Udaya Gammanpila has recited a certain stanza from the dhamma and he was accused for doing so by another member of parliament.
On this occasion what Mp Gammanpila
complained was that the no-confidence would be lost today and that though Ranil was to go home; as the monetary factor has taken precedence, such a thing would not take place. He said that if Lord Buddha was living today, He would preach that money would take pride of place and not that the mind would operate as the root cause. In this context he has recited a stanza from the dhamma by changing it. After his speech, a certain member of parliament brought a protest against that speech according to standing orders.
