Commemoration of the 99th birthday of Dr. Lester James Peries and launching of his latest cinematic creation ''Vaishnavi' were held last evening at Regal cinema hall. The festival was held under the patronage of Prime Minister Ranil being present on the occasion and on behalf of Dr. Lester, his wife was present while he was not available on medical advice.
