The Kadugannawa tunnel which is considered as a historical location where a rock was pierced by the British thus removing the obstruction which provided access to the upcountry has posed a danger. Under this situation props have been erected from

yesterday (24) and a board has been erected notifying motorists not to use that road.

Day-before-yesterday (23) Kadugannawa administrative engineers' office had stopped traffic at that point because of a crevice that was observed at that spot last week. Subsequently some props were erected where the crevice was observed and inspection activities were commenced. The location under reference was being rennovated by the urban and Western Development Ministry since June, 2017 at an expenditure of 24 million; but the work is still underway.
