if I happened to meet ... I'd give an 'umma" -- Wimal Weeravansha
The first public rally in the series of public rallies organised by the United Opposition against the incumbent regime was held yesterday (12) at Anuradhapura Salgado Playground.
This public rally which was held under the leadership of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa a host of members of parliament representing the United Opposition participated on this occasion. Mr. Wimal Weeravansha expressed the following idea on that occasion: "This is the holy Anuradhapura
land. The land in which the first attack will be launched in the provincial council elections. President Mahinda Rajapaksa brought this country to a certain level ... brought the economy to a certain level ... brought political stability to a certain level. This is a country which has fallen into a level below that level which was there earlier. The international arena has been victorious. There isn't a week's stock of oil. There's not an international friend even to borrow some oil in a sudden situation either.
'Ammapaa' ... what a frail government is this. That time when there wasn't oil, 'budu amme' ... Nevaska 'Aryawa' had a better status than the President's 'Aryawa'. If I happened to meet ... I'd give an 'umma'. Distribute oil before distributing other things. That's how youth of Facebook say. Now Wickramasinghe's are getting ready to divide the constitution which could not be divided by the war. Even if one dies one after the other, this 'paragethi' traitorous government should be vanquished ... both inside and outside parliament. Outside of course it's already annihilated ... when elections come, it can be seen".
