"I committed an offence ... but it's a small matter" -- former MP who made lady-teacher kneel down

Ananda Sarath Kumara who was convicted by Puttalam High Court for having made lady-teacher Susila Gamage of Anamaduwa Navodya Vidyalaya kneel down in public having being bestowed the position of organiser of Sri Lanka Freedom Party has become a topic of discussion.

Because of this aforesaid disrepute of his, he had to even lose the elections at hand at that time. The
Teachers' Association have criticised his new appointment.

Ananda Sarath Kumara who made the school teacher kneel down where Sports Minister too participated in at the welcome celebrations had said, "It's true that I made an offence; but it was a case that had to be solved by the Samatha Mandalaya. However, I was taken into police custody and produced before court. I was made guilty to the offence after putting me into High Court and after being made an accused, I was fined. As such, I saluted the people who voted me and then resigned on my own from my position of Provincial Council membership in an honourable way.

After accepting this post of organiser I awaited 2 weeks ... leaving anybody to sling mud at me. But these people are still attacking me by following me. I did make a mistake ... I underwent punishment and now it's over. But even after that, that lady-teacher has not at least said that I have even frowned on her. I had asked for the post of organiser even from the time of Madam Bandaranaike. But even Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa whom I adore more than my life gave me this. But the way I reprimanded Mr. Maithripala Sirisena at the last elections on stage where Mr. Mahinda was present ... I never thought that he would give me this post of organiser".
