Three struck by lightning and die last evening in Medamulana!

As a result of inclement weather associated with lightning and heavy showers last evening (29) all over the island, a number of instances of lightning striking were reported.

3 individuals who were engaged in drying paddy at the helicopter arena in front of former President

Mahinda's house in Weeraketiya, Medamulana were struck by lightning last evening and all 3 of them lost their lives on the spot as a result, it was reported. The deceased are persons from areas of Galpoththayaya, Kudasimbula and Siyambalaheththewa, it was reported. They had come that day for the purpose of drying activities on a hired basis when they died with lightning striking them.
