11 million Dialog connections go haywire for some hours!
As a result of a technical problem caused in the Dialog mobile telephone service network which is utilised by close upon 11 million customers in Sri Lanka, a large number of people were inconvenienced. Those using Dialog have complained that there were incidents of breakdown in signals which operate on and off. It was specially
difficult to connect with numbers within the network itself while the customer number too was not active.
The General Manager of Dialog has expressed his ideas to the media saying that steps are underway to resolve this situation soon and as a reply to inquiries across Twitter Account he has given the following responses: "At the moment we are facing difficulties in the network and our team is in action in that respect". Where the official Facebook Page is concerned he has made this comment: "As our customers have faced inconvenience we wish to mention that it would be difficult to connect calls. We regret inconvenience encountered as a result of updating processes".
According to the Facebook message, what has happened is an updating process. It was later reported that a period of 2 hours in the least and at maximum duration more time has elapsed before it was brought back to its former state.
There are over 11 million customers of Dialog and 2600 primary centres in each area of Sri Lanka which has been subjected to this problem.
