Mothers who do not undergo birth control operations at Dambulla Hospital ... not to be discharged
An incident is reported where mothers who give childbirth are forced to go in for birth control procedures at Dambulla Hospital.
Usually the desire to go in for another child or not happens according to the discretion of the mother or her husband. However, this particular hospital has adopted a procedure where every mother who delivers a new baby is made aware in a compulsive manner about birth control and subsequently only those consent to such an operation are
granted permission to leave hospital premises while the others are made to remain back. As a result of this some mothers who undergo an indisposed condition after childbirth have even been subjected to inconvenience and a suspicion has emerged as to under whose necessity this form of methodology of birth control procedures are being effected. A complaint has been forwarded to Mr. Charles Nugawela, Director of the hospital and what he has informed the media is that this incident is true and that inquiries would be made about those responsible for making this influence.
