The former Chief Administrative Officer of SAITM, Sameera Ratnayaka who is being spoken of these days widely has released an announcement across the Rupavahini media that much of the news published about him is false. 

Currently the police has taken a suspect into custody and is on the tracks of a provincial council member who has also beat a retreat in connection with the incident of shooting and telephone dialogues between Sameera and the parliamentarian was reported while the shooting was supposed to be a created act as reported to the judiciary. In the meantime JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayaka said recently that Sameera Ratnayaka is not a doctor as such to which Sameera replies saying that he secured a medical degree from a Russian University acclaimed the world over at the first attempt itself and that it was subject to approval from the Sri Lanka Medical Council too. 

This is what he said. "I don't know anything about the shooting. I haven't even made any preparations regarding it. At present there is a person who is in police custody as the alleged person who did the shooting. I don't know that person personally or in any other way. I believe that the police officers or those who carry out investigations about any suspected parties would very quickly take them into custody. I hope to give my complete co-operation for investigations to be conducted in future ... the reason is because I am free from guilt and I don't know anything concerning this. Something is in operation at this moment in an organised way to make me lose my status ... to scare me ... to do something. Across this situation there's a big impact created on SAITM College and I have decided to tender my resignation temporarily from my position of Chief Administrative Officer. 

I am a person who has received my degree from the Russian Naugora State Medical Faculty. It is said that I have failed 9 times. I have never failed an examination. This is the degree certificate I got. (Displays certificate). Not only the Sri Lanka Medical Council but even the whole world acknowledges it. I had no need to appear in the Act 16 Examination. The Sri Lanka Medical Council too has accepted me as a doctor. From that point onwards what these other people say is of no problem to me".
