Earlier it was reported that he had left to Singapore for some matter regarding health. But now it has taken a different turn and the story that circulates now is that it is over a matter that concerns money. Singapore Bank Account belonging to Mahinda Rajapaksa's youngest son Rohitha Rajapaksa. Information has been published that the said Account holds funds collected for Rohitha's Space Project. There is news to the effect that the former supervision MP, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Sajith Vaas Goonawardena too is sojourning in Singapore these days and has met the former President there.

Even stalwarts of the United Opposition had come to know about Mahinda travelling overseas quite abruptly only at the last moment.
