Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundera is among those who was subjected to serious attacks across Facebook social websites during the recent past having tried to respond to a telephone call which he wanted to answer. This particular incident went as far as the parliament.

The IGP expressing his ideas to a weekend newspaper

some days back spoke about those elements who spoke ill of him and the memories he retained in that connection in this manner: "I have no interest about the Facebook. I also was in touch with the Facebook for some time. With the duties I have, there's no time to attend to it now. During the past IGP Pujith Jayasundera came in for severe criticism across Facebook social websites. All these people attacked me because I am Pujith Jayasundera. People who attacked me in this manner through Facebook were those who entertained various personal motives. Some of them did so with political objectives in mind. Some did so with promotions in mind. Some others slung mud at me through the Facebook with financial ideas expecting other advantages. All these things were done by some organised groups. However much mud was thrown at me ... I didn't have a downfall and neither will I, for that matter. I went through all Facebook reports and enjoyed them. I have gathered all those things as a collection of mine".
