Person who shouted out inside courts when verdict was announced that Wimal is to be remanded for 2 weeks ... himself taken into custody!

After MP Mr. Wimal Weeravansha and former General Manager of State Engineering Corporation Mr. Samantha Lokuhennadige were taken into remand custody 2 weeks before this under the allegation of misappropriation of vehicles when the former was a Minister, the case in that connection was once more heard today. On that occasion Colombo Fort Magistrate Miss Lanka Jayaratna ordered that both of them be remanded till 7th February.

Wimal's lawyers brought forward the point that Wimal warrants being bailed out and as Mr.
Weeravansha's daughter is to sit for her Ordinary Level Examination at the end of this year, refusal to grant bail could affect her mentally, arguing ad focusing on that point. However the Magistrate stated that it is not a condition relevant for bail to be granted. She also pointed out that there are shortcomings in the medical report too. As such, when it was made known in courts that the leader of Jathika Nidahas Peramuna, Member of Parliament Mr. Wimal Weeravansha was to be remanded once more till 7th of next month, a particular individual stood up in courts and began to shout out that Wimal Weeravansha is not guilty in this case and that the Deputy Minister of Housing and Construction at that time should be taken into custody. In that instance the Lady Magistrate issued an order that this person who disturbed proceedings in court be taken into custody and to detain him in the cell.

Arresting Wimal Weeravansha has turned out to become a matter of special importance for numerous posters and broadcasting media to lay emphasis and various lines of poetry have found their way into all over advertisement boards. What some posters depict is that in order to rescue Wimal, to be present at the Nugegoda rally. (According to today's decision Wimal would not be able to be present at the United Opposition rally scheduled to be held in Nugegoda).
