Youngster to pay his leasing installment of motor bike had stolen a number of mobile phones of young girls
In order to pay the leasing installments of his motor cycle a youngster in Anuradhapura area had been nabbed by the officers of the criminal investigating unit of the Anuradhapura headquarters police station on the 05th instant.
It is reported that he had forcibly taken mobile phones of a young female medical student, and six other mobile phones of young girls.When complaints had been made the police officers had launched
a search for him and had arrested on suspicion.Those who had lost the mobile phones in this manner had been a female medical student of the Raja Rata medical faculty, two student nurses,a garment factory worker among others. These thefts had been made all within a period of one month.
The suspected youngster had been arrested in the Galkulama area.What he had done was while riding his flashy motor bike he use to tell "is this the way you are walking along the road" and had grabbed the mobile they had been carrying.
It is reported that the value of the mobiles he had robbed were worth Rs 30,000/- Rs 40,000/- and even about Rs 200,000/-.He had confessed that these robberies were made in order to pay his leasing installments to a leasing company in order to protect his bike been seized.
The suspect a 21 year old youngster had been produced to the Anuradhapura Magistrate courts.He had been ordered to be remanded until the 16th instant when an identification parade is to be held.
