Toxic toffee imported from china in the market targeting school children

The  officials of the association of restaurants and canteens have disclosed that a toxic toffee imported from China are sold targeting school children are sold in certain school canteens.

It is said that the toffee in question has been manufactured to keep it under the tongue in order to keep the mouth fresh with a good

smell.But it has been found that serves a purpose of intoxicating children who use them. These facts have been revealed by the President of the canteen owners association Asela Sampath.

It has been found that this toffee is sold for Rs 150 and it is available in lemon, strawberry flavours and is said to be distributed in large quantities in the People's Park area in Pettah was revealed by Asela Sampath.

Asela Sampath had challenged any person to prove that this toffee in not toxic.He had said that legal action should be instituted against those who import distribute and sell these toffees.He also intends in complaining on this to the ministry of health authorities.
