It was between Education Minister Mr. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam and MP Mr. Mahindananda Aluthgamage that a heated exchange of words flared up yesterday in parliament during the process of the Budget debate.

"These fellows have stolen and now are coming to shout also. Actually ... these people should be behind bars. We don't take revenge from anybody on a Political basis", said Education Minister Akila
Viraj Kariyawasam. "Is that the reason then that 15 people have been put inside?" United Opposition MP Mr. Mahindananda Aluthgamage voiced his protest as a response to it. "We didn't rob carrom-boards", said Education Minister Mr. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam. As the people's representatives of both the government Party and the United Opposition began to shout out on that occasion it was a heated situation which flared up in the House.

"Those days you came to our boutique in Kurunegala on a bike wearing a jacket. The sales rep who came like that ... how did you become a millionaire now?" The Minister of Higher Education Mr. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam gets up from his seat and asks this question while MP Mr. Mahindananda Aluthgamage of the United Opposition was engaged in the budget debate.

"I worked as a Marketing Executive. I admit that. What's wrong in it? But I haven't marketed my organs. Therefore it's an honour for me to come from a low level", responded the United Opposition MP Mr. Mahindananda Aluthgamage. The latter who went into a rage found fault with the Chairman for having provided the opportunity for him to speak. (It has been deleted from the Hansard).

Later he went on to say "But I haven't sold my organs. I am a good male. I have never been a male prostitute". For this remark most of those in the Assembly had broken into a laugh. At this moment there was a heated environment in the House. That video, from below
